Traditional Marketing Can Make a DifferenceStaying on top of the latest industry trends is important in the marketing world, but using tried-and-true tactics can also make a great impact on a target audience. A printed collateral piece featuring fire boats did just that for one of our clients, Silver Ships.

Silver Ships is an aluminum boat-builder based near Mobile, Ala. The company builds workboats for various applications, including fire/rescue. With a strategy in place to help Silver Ships dive deeper into the fire/rescue market, TRINDGROUP worked with the team to develop a collateral piece to highlight previous fire boat projects, and introduce potential customers to the company and how the boat-buying process works.

Developing the collateral piece required an initial discussion about the order of the pages. How would this piece fit into the sales process when handed our at a trade show or emailed to a potential customer digitally? TRINDGROUP worked closely with Silver Ships’ sales team to arrange content in a way that would make the most sense to the target audience and then went to work on molding existing informational copy into a format that would best fit the 10 interior pages without overwhelming the customer.

With order and content developed, the TRINDGROUP design team went to work on selecting action-oriented photos of Silver Ships fire boats to include in the piece and developing icons and other graphics to supplement the written content. The design team placed a focus on using colors, symbols and photos that would resonate with the target audience of firefighters, fire chiefs, city officials and others who would be in the market for purchasing a fire/rescue boat.

Upon completion of the collateral piece, it was sent to print and was immediately used at the Firehouse Expo trade show, where Silver Ships had a booth. The piece successfully allowed the Silver Ships team to show potential customers examples of past projects, relay information about build specs and explain the purchase process. The next steps will be transforming the printed piece into a digital format to be used on the Silver Ships website, where it will include interactive videos and other features designed specifically for their target audience.
