TRINDGROUP Summer Internship in Full-Swing

Sara, Grace, Annaka and Molly

Summer 2020 is in full swing here at TRINDGROUP which means the welcoming of our new interns. Sara, Annaka and Molly are now in the office with Grace, who has been working with us since January. Diverse would be an understatement with this group. Grace and Annaka both share a passion for innovation and building interpersonal relationships with their Public Relations major, while Sara and Molly both love to write and incorporate storytelling. Sara is a Journalism major, and Molly is a double major in Marketing and Creative Writing.

Although each intern has a different place they call home, everyone has roots in an Alabama city. Each also believe that Auburn is their home away from home. Sara says, “I grew up an Alabama fan, but I fell in love with Auburn the second I stepped on campus. I knew immediately that Auburn was where I belonged.” When each girl was asked what their favorite Auburn memory was, they all answered with the same day in mind; winning the Iron Bowl. “Definitely winning both Iron Bowls we have had at home and then storming the field afterwards. There is nothing like a game day at Jordan-Hare; from the traditions to the sense of unity from the Auburn family. The atmosphere is electric, and it is my favorite place to be on Saturdays,” says Molly.

Meet Sara:

What are you most looking forward to during your time at TRINDGROUP?
I am looking forward to learning more about what all encompasses working at TRINDGROUP. Specifically, I am excited to get hands-on experience that puts to use what I have learned in the classroom.

Plans after graduation:
I am currently studying to take the LSAT. After graduation, I am planning on attending law school to study media law.

Campus and community involvement:
I have been involved with Best Buddies, which is an organization that gives the opportunity to form one-on-one friendships with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This organization is one of my favorites on Auburn’s campus. I was not involved last year, but I look forward to participating again this upcoming school year

I love to cook!

Plans after graduation:
I hope to get a job in the sports and/or entertainment industry using my marketing and creative writing skills towards a job that I am passionate about. Ideally, I want to work for a professional sports organization doing creative marketing.

Campus and community involvement:
I have been involved in a lot of Auburn clubs and organizations, my favorite being a lifestyle writer for the Plainsman newspaper and on the Creativity and Marketing Team for Eagle Eye TV. I also write for a local magazine in Auburn called Life at the Mill.

Meet Grace:

What do you think is the most valuable thing you have learned so far during your time with TRINDGROUP?
I’ve been able to exercise what I’ve learned in class while at TRINDGROUP, especially when it comes to writing backgrounders, press releases and blogs. Applying what I’ve learned in a real-world setting has given me the opportunity to improve my writing and learn best practices for different situations.

Plans after graduation:
After graduation, I hope to work for an in-house marketing or PR department where I can promote something that I’m passionate about. I’m open to living almost anywhere, and I’m hoping for a job opportunity that will take me somewhere I’m unfamiliar with.

Campus and community involvement:
I am a member of PRSSA, and I spent my first two years at Auburn working with the baseball team as an Auburn Diamond Doll.

Now that we have been here for a week, the office is starting to feel like a home. Over the ten-week internship program, the public relations and marketing interns will be writing blogs and crafting press releases, pulling analytics, researching and interacting with clients, assisting with social media, and that is only the beginning. For the past eleven years, the program has been reoccurring. So we have intern positions available in the fall, spring, and summer sessions in the public relations and marketing side as well as graphic design.
