Internship Recap: Storm and Ronni
This academic year TRINDGROUP hosted two interns from Auburn University – Ronni Martin and Storm Cook. They are graduating with degrees in Communication and Public Relations, respectively, and their interests and involvement have expanded beyond traditional industry roles during their time at TRINDGROUP.
Both Ronni and Storm have learned valuable skills in the public relations, marketing and communication realm both in class and on the job. Storm says “Public Relations Campaigns” is the most beneficial course PR students will take at Auburn to learn valuable internship and career skills, and Ronni believes “Communication and Journalism” is the most beneficial course Communication students will take during their time at Auburn.
TRINDGROUP is a full-service PR, marketing and design company, which allows interns the opportunity to get their feet wet in multiple facets of these industries. Ronni and Storm took extra interest in photography and videography thanks to a few unique projects TRINDGROUP on-boarded during their internship. Specifically, they took photos of products and conducted interviews with clients for a local company’s new website build. Both Ronni and Storm say this project was one of their favorite parts of their internships because they enjoyed the creative freedom they were given.
“Great photos and consistent editing is important for any brand,” says Storm. “Working on the photography for the small business client allowed me to gain experience with new photo and video equipment.”
In March, the interns were also a part of a product photoshoot that required venturing out of their comfort zones. “Working on the product shoot for one of our retainer clients pushed us to come up with new ways to make food products look more appealing to customers,” says Ronni. “It really emphasized the importance of creativity in the marketing industry.”
From daily administrative tasks, research, blog writing, Instagram story development and more, Ronni and Storm enjoyed a full agency experience and were given valuable advice and guidance.
Ronni will be starting her new job at True Glory in Influencer Marketing this summer, while Storm will be continuing her education at Auburn University in the Master of Social Work Program. We are so proud of their accomplishments and thankful for their hard work over the past year!
